Venue: Newport Parish Centre (Town Lane, Newport, PO30 1JU)
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Isle of Wight Conservative Association (IWCA) is normally held no later than the end of June, but the Party Board decided that these meetings will - in 2023 - take place later to align with when the new constituency boundaries take effect for organisational purposes.
This year’s AGM – which also fulfils the function of being a Special General Meeting (SGM)) – is a little unusual. It marks the end of the IWCA being a single constituency association, and its replacement by a multi-constituency federation. This is due to the introduction of two constituencies on the Isle of Wight at the next General Election. The Party Board has determined that the Vesting Day (i.e. when these changes will apply) in the South East region - where the Isle of Wight sits - will be on Wednesday 27th September. Therefore our AGM is taking place the following day.
A new chairman of the IWCA - along with a Constituency Officer for each seat - will be elected at this meeting.
Papers for the AGM have been posted to all paid-up members.
