New Event for 2024: A Clay Pigeon Shoot at Tapnell Farm.
They will be two sections to the shoot, one for novices who will shoot 50 targets and one for experienced shooters (with their own licenses and guns) who will shoot 100 targets.
The novice session will begin with your instructor giving you a safety briefing and making sure you have your eye and ear protection on ( all supplied). Your instructor will then take you to your first stand, where he will show you the target and explain the best method of tackling it. Then with your instructor by your side, they will show you how to load the gun, operate the safety catch and help you place the gun in the optimum position to shoot the target. Once you have knocked a few out of the sky, you will be keen to move on to the next stand, where an entirely different target awaits.
There will be different sizes and gauges of shotguns available to suit each individual for all ages, including children from 10 years of age and up. The shooting ground has over 70 years combined experience of shooting sports and are passionate about sharing the excitement and thrill of hitting the target. Come rain or shine we are going to have a great day.
For the experienced guns, a course of 100 targets awaits you. Instructors will be be available on each stand to do the scoring and offer a little advice as and when required. All experienced guns are reminded to bring their own ear defenders, eye protection, gun(s) and their supporting valid licence.
