Following an appearance at the IW Literary Festival, Stanley Johnson will be the guest speaker at a Conservative afternoon reception, held at the Royal Ocean Racing Club in Cowes.
Stanley Johnson was the first ever MEP for the Isle of Wight (1979-1984) and since then has become a distinguished writer, environmental campaigner and TV personality. He is also the father of Boris Johnson. In the past 12 months he has appeared on ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and BBC's The Real Marigold Hotel.
He will also be signing copies of his political novel Kompromat, which will raise funds for the Conservative cause on the Island.
This event is open to all: members and non-members (although non-members must attend as a guest of a member). Drinks and canapes will be served.
This reception is being organised in conjunction with the Cowes and East Cowes branches of the Isle of Wight Conservative Association.
