Donna Jones returns Ryde Police Station to community Policing.

Conservative Police & Crimes Commissioner Donna Jones visited the Isle of Wight yesterday to open the renovated Police station in Ryde. Accompanied by Joe Robertson MP for Isle of Wight East, High Sheriff for Isle of Wight Graham Biss & Ryde Town Mayor Richard May, Donna Jones spoke of the benefits of having a demonstrable Police presence in the community. Ryde Police station is one of seven stations that will be opened before the end of 2024, with more planned for 2025.

Donna Jones went on to say “I’m delivering on my promise to the people of the Isle of Wight to increase Police accessibility, engagement and visibility in the community. Police officers must be a constant presence in the heart of their towns & rural areas.”

Following her duties in Ryde, Donna Jones joined the ladies attending the Conservative Ladies Luncheon Club in Shanklin, where she spoke on a number of topics and updated the audience on the progress delivered by Scott Chilton, Chief Constable for Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Joan Soloman commented “It’s always wonderful to hear from our Police & Crime Commissioner and the meaningful progress she has made. Donna always impresses with her energy, conviction & focus and today was absolutely no exception. Donna is a ‘tour-de-force’!”
